Ma...Your post had me literally laughing out loud.

Maybe it's that I don't have a baby yet, but ... they're the rhymes we all grew up on, hearing time and time again and (most of us, anyway lol) came out to be perfectly fine people.

But I've had similar thoughts - how in the world do you sing to a baby about a baby falling out of the tree? But then I think it's more about the soft lilt of the mom's voice and sing-song nature of the phrasing than what's actually being said.Polka Dothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00633374196156501103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2393371559584429101.post-4572741148322182292009-05-22T17:53:53.395-04:002009-05-22T17:53:53.395-04:00Yea, they are so vividly creepy. I couldn't bring myself to teach it to Phoebe:

I'm a Texan, I'm a Texan, I'm a Texan star
And I come from the West where the cowboys are
I can ride and I can rope and I can show you how it's done
So come on to Texas with your six shooting gun.
Bump-ba-de-ba-bump
Bang Bang

Yeah.
