Disappointment

The great "deal" from yesterday really was too good to be true. I went to check on my account, only to discover that my order was cancelled this evening.

I did receive an email from Guest Services stating that there was an "unexpected error" that lead to several mis-priced items, and they are unable to honor the advertised price. The correct retail price on the Marathon should be $279.99.

Needless to say, I probably won't be getting my beloved cow print seat. I'm extremely disappointed and probably won't be shopping at Target in the near future.

Back to researching alternatives...

I'm sorry Target wouldn't honor the price. That seems really crappy of them although I'm sure Britax limits the sale price and they don't want to lose their business relationship with them.

Honestly if there is any way you can swing it, I would really suggest getting a Marathon. It will save you money in the long run. My 6 year old can still fit in his. www.albeebaby.com has some Marathons on sale for $209. If you think about it, for 5-6 years of use that is only $40/year. If you absolutely can't swing it, the next seat I would suggest is the Evenflo Triumph Advance.

Boo! I don't care if it was an error, it was their error and they should honor the price.

Just to let you know what we did...I knew we HAD to HAVE the Cowmooflage - Marathon...so I waited for my 20% off coupon at BRU that I get every month or so and used it on that...I know it's still not less than a hundred...but it was still like $70-$80 cheaper, which to me was awesome...I'm sorry about the cancellation...that truly sucks. KUP on what you decide.

Interesting. Where I live, they'd have to honour it.

Shame.

Surely they'd be legally obliged to honour the price? Assholes.

How annoying that they wouldn't honor the price. And I am saying that as someone who didn't get there in time to get the bargain. I don't begrudge others a steal.

Even though I DON'T agree with their decision to honor the price (and I doubt that Britax has any say in it, it's all about profit margins), I guess what they say is true. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Dang! I missed out on the sale ('sold out' by the time I got to the site), and I have to admit it stings just a little bit less knowing it was a fluke deal. That being said, I think it is crappy of Target to not honor the price for those that were able to make the purchase. They should at least offer a merchandise credit or something! So sorry they are being a pain. :(

Bleh. Let us know what you choose as an alternative. I need to find one soon and I just haven't even begun to think about it.

I figured it was a mistake when I tried and the link was broken, but I think it is very poor customer service not to honor the price. I'm sorry that happened to you.

Check out eBay because there are a lot of new in the box with free shipping. Still not as cheap, but worth the try. Also, wwwalbeebaby.com is having a sale on Britax right now with free shipping.
